Rhinos are mammals, which means that they give birth to live young. Rhino calves are born after a gestation period of about 15-18 months. When the calf is born, it weighs around 100 pounds and is about 3 feet long. The calf will stay with its mother for about 3-4 years, until it is weaned and able to live independently.
