What was the height of a dire wolf?

Dire wolves (Canis dirus) were a species of large canid that lived in North America during the Pleistocene epoch. They were not taller than modern wolves. The average dire wolf was about the size of a large modern wolf, standing about 3 feet (0.9 m) high at the shoulder and weighing around 150 lb (68 kg).
