Why does an American buffalo migrate?

The American Buffalo, commonly referred to as the Bison, does not migrate in the same way some other species, like birds, do. Bison herds might undertake seasonal movements, but these are primarily driven by the availability of food and their search for better grazing areas, not by long-distance migrations.
