How old does a worm have to be lay eggs?

Earthworms can begin reproducing 3 to 12 months after they hatch, depending on the temperature (earthworms grow faster when temps are higher). If conditions stay consistently warm, some earthworms can produce cocoons in just three months. Worms cannot self-fertilize and require two earthworms in order to reproduce.
