Key deer can fall prey to:
- Puma *(Puma concolor)*(introduced or escapee).
- Bobcat *(Lynx rufus)*
- Coyotes *(Canis latrans)*.
- Domestic dogs (*Canis lupus familiaris*)
They also are threatened by the invasive python population (*Burmese python*( *Python bivittatus*)and *Reticulated python* (*Python reticulatus*). The pythons can eat any size key deer they can swallow whole, regardless of the snake or the deer's age.
