Who was Susie Salmon?

Susie Salmon was the main character of the 2007 novel "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. She was a young teenage girl who was murdered by her neighbor. The novel is told from Susie's perspective, as she watches over her family and friends from the afterlife and tries to come to terms with her death.
