What do king pengiun eat?

King penguins feed primarily on fish, squid and krill. Fish make up the majority of the diet, and include species like lantern fish, myctophids, blue whiting, mackerel icefish, and plunderfish. Squid species consumed include oceanic squid, flying squid, and cranchiid squid. When fish and squid are not readily available, king penguins will also eat krill.
