Why do pufferfish live in tropical seas and deep seas?

Pufferfish prefer shallow, tropical habitats in oceans over both sandy and grassy beds but can also be found in temperate climates and occasionally freshwater habitats. There are no pufferfish species that typically occupy the great ocean depths.
