How did the Liopleurodon become extinct?

Liopleurodon did not become extinct; it thrived at a time during the mid-Jurassic age which was some 15-160 million years ago or thereabouts. Liopleurodon was one of the top marine predators which hunted in the seas to get squid, fish, marine reptiles amongst other animals as its source of prey.
