How long have Giant Pandas been around for?

The Giant Panda has existed for approximately 2–3 million years, having evolved from a common ancestor shared with the Red Panda. Fossil records suggest that there were at least 12 different species of pandas that roamed the Earth during the Ice Age. Of these species, only the Giant Panda and the Red Panda have managed to survive to this day.
