Can snails be born with one snail not a mother AND father?

No. Snails must have a mother and a father to reproduce. Snails are hermaphrodites, which means they have both male and female reproductive organs. In order to reproduce, two snails must exchange sperm, and the eggs must be fertilized by the sperm. Without both a mother and a father, this process cannot take place.
