Is it okay for a snail to be on the heater?

Snails should never be allowed to come in contact with the aquarium heater. In most cases, the snail will be either boiled alive or fried when they come in contact with a heater. For this reason, precautions should always be taken to prevent the snail from getting to, and staying on the heater.
