Are peacocks a bird of paradise?

Peacocks are not birds of paradise. Birds of paradise are a diverse group of species found in the rainforests of eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and eastern Australia. Peacocks are members of the pheasant family and are native to the Indian subcontinent. While both peacocks and birds of paradise are known for their beautiful plumage, they are not closely related.
