Do echidnas give birth to live young?

Echidnas are monotremes, which means they lay eggs. So the answer is no, they don't give birth to live young.

However, echidnas are unique in that they lay eggs but still have a pouch where they raise their young. After hatching, the baby echidna will stay in the pouch and feed on milk from the mother's mammary glands.
